Self Quarantine- A Period of Self Improvement

With the current situation of Covid-19 (Corona Virus) becoming a global pandemic, everybody is in the state of Paranoid. To counter attack the adversity of the virus, the government and the health experts are prescribing the techniques of self isolation and social distancing to be the ideal solution. Due to this announcement most of the companies has offered work from home provision for their employees to deal with the current situation. The period of self isolation can be stressful and mentally disturbing as we are vastly deviated from our routine. Through this article let me suggest few ways to transform this period into a phase of self -improvement.

a) Cultivate a new Habit: Generally it takes us 21 days to build a new habit, currently we have ample time to build one. It could be writing, reading, eating healthy or sleeping on time. “ We become what we repeatedly do”, so make sure that you develop a good habit, so it becomes a part of your routine.

b) Uplifting Yourself: Listen to good music, read a book, watch movies that helps you feel better and happier. Avoid anything that makes you feel low and depressed, stay good and live better. Improve your self-confidence, always have positive thoughts, remember that “ a negative mindset will never have a positive life”.

c)Work Life Balance: As most of us are using the benefit of work from home, let us draw a line to know when to work and when to spend time with our family. Schedule your work (Breakdown), so that we have enough time to spend with kids and family members. We don’t know when we will get times like this to be together. Use this time wisely so you have time for plenty of laughter and conversations.

d) Eat Clean, Eat Healthy: We spend most of our time indoors and don’t get the chance to go out to exercise or gym to workout. The ideal way to handle this issue is to eat healthy, avoid oily food and anything that makes you bloat. This is the time to get your body accustom to the diet. “If you don’t eat your food as medicine, you need to eat medicine as food”.

e)Stay Connected: Make the most out of technology and stay connected with friends and colleagues via text, phone calls and video conferencing. Express your good thoughts about each other and talk about the good moments you shared. This is the period to lift each other and back each other.

f)Stretching/Workout: Practice small stretches and indoor workouts as you don’t get an opportunity to spend on outdoor activities. This would help you prevent your body from being idle over a course of time.

g)Practice Gratitude: There are plenty of beautiful hearts like doctors, grocery shop workers, pharmacist and sanitary workers, keeping their lives behind and serving the society during this pandemic. Spare a moment to thank all these people and learn to respect them in near future as they are working for us during this havoc.

h)Embrace Humanity:There is always a big difference between human being and being human, only a few really understand it. Respect each creature on earth, help birds and animals that seek food during this phase, even though they can’t help you back they shower utmost gratitude.

You are loved when you are born, you will be loved when you die, in the middle you need to manage.

This is the ideal time to stand for each other, uplift one another, express love and gratitude. We all are mere artist in this play called “LIFE”, if we do it well once, it is good enough.
